Why Clean Air Ducts?

Whether you are starting an air duct cleaning business or diversifying by adding air duct cleaning to your existing cleaning business, air duct cleaning is a growing market that has a bright future ahead.

Air duct cleaning is becoming a major factor in the cleaning industry.  More than 50 million Americans suffer from allergies, and the level of some hazardous pollutants in indoor air has been found to be up to 70 times greater than the outdoor air (USEPA).  Many of  these pollutants include: dirt, pollen, dust, and mold in the heating and air conditioning duct system.  More and more people are becoming aware of the benefits of air duct cleaning.  The result is an air duct cleaning industry boom that is continuing to expand year after year.

If you were to take a survey of 100 homes in your neighborhood, you would probably notice that about 90-95 of them have never had their ducts cleaned. Although more and more people are becoming aware of the benefits of cleaning their ducts, many people still have not got around to getting them cleaned.. Thus, the residential market is huge and still mostly untapped. Commercial & Industrial ducts follow a similar pattern as well. The 90-95 out of 100 homes in the survey above are potential customers!

Not only is there a large market for air duct cleaning, but there is also great money in it as well. Here is another survey opportunity: If you have someone in your area that cleans air ducts, call them up and get a quote. You will quickly notice that there is some good $$$ in air duct cleaning.

If you own an existing cleaning business (ie. Carpet Cleaning Business, HVAC, etc.), do a little survey of your customers. See how many of them would be possibly interested in having their ducts cleaned. Show them their cold air return vents... most of the time you can just look at them without removing the vent to see all the dirt attached. If the customer would be interested, put them on a list and tell them that you are thinking about getting into air duct cleaning. By the time you have a few people on the list, you will be on your way to paying for the system before you even purchase your air duct cleaning equipment.

After deciding to enter air duct cleaning, you will need to find the right air duct cleaning equipment for your needs. (See "Types of Air Duct Cleaning Equipment").
